Filling the Gap Service Project

Each year Altrusa DFW assists several local social service agencies by providing various items that they need to “Fill The Gap” in assisting their financially-disadvantaged clients . Some of the often-requested items are diapers, baby wipes, feminine hygiene items, socks, shoes, underwear, household products, and toiletries. Each agency has a unique list of needed items, and Altrusa DFW customizes the provisions based on each agency’s request. We arrange for bulk delivery to each agency, by retail delivery or with Altrusa members delivering items in person. We also assemble custom bags for various agencies, which they can quickly and easily hand out to clients in crisis.
